Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare has had 11 million unique players on XBOX 360 and 4 million players on PS3 according to Eurogamer. There are still consistently thousands of players online in CoD4 every day. The thing that shocked me most is that there are nearly three times more people playing XBOX online than PS3. Then no wonder why I can’t get a decent game connection through Playstation Network some nights! Nobody is playing! It gets painful to get lag-killed by 13-year olds in Australia in New Zealand all the time.

Unbeknownst to me, the prestige medals and badges in CoD 4 are based on actual medals awarded in the military.

OK so it’s chump time. I thought I was satisfied with prestige 1 so I stopped playing. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of shit at work because I stink at the game. Anytime we play a round of headquarters the team I’m on will get a big old doughnut. Perhaps a result of not playing it 2 hours every night. Also possibly a function of poor strategy and not respecting the kill/death ratio.

Now that I haven’t played CoD at home in at least a month it feels like time to dust off the PS3 and see if I can handle powering up in Prestige 2 zone. I’m sure I’ll totally stink but it’s time to work on pumping up the kill/death ratio. My typical k/d ratio in a game of headquarters was a pretty miserable 1:2.

Despite significant poor play I finally finished Prestige 1 at 3d 16h 55m. Only 5 hours quicker than the beginner level. Not too good! The problem was I did not put much strategy into gathering the points. I think I’m pretty much satisfied with this so I’m not going to try to waste another 2 days of my life trying to level up any more.
